Owning It

Everyone’s responsibility is no-one’s responsibility. That is often the case and it rarely leads to any great results. But if we think of it instead as everyone’s responsibility is my opportunity things will start happening.

Finding yourself being the only person with this approach, can on the one hand feel quite lonely and burdensome, but on the other hand it gives you a lot of power to have things your way.

However, finding yourself in a team of like-minded “everyones” not only gives you the power to have it your way, but to be challenged and sharpen your methods and ideas. This will most definitely lead to even better results than if you would’ve had it your original way.

Also, whatever you’re trying to achieve together will be much more fun and meaningful if all of you take ownership of the problem at hand. And then, in the end, everyone can take pride in the result. When you own it, you earn it.
